We (thankfully) have not lost power all winter. Did lose cable for 48 hrs and thought I was going to die. gg

The soup sounds delicious. I'm eating a lot of soup right now as they fit in beautifully with my diet. I made a pot of split pea with my left over Honey Baked Ham last week, and am living on it.

I just bought one of those packages of peas (without seasoning) and followed their directions. I did use only 1/2 the amount of water, which made for a thicker soup. It also called for garlic and bay leaf......something I'd never put into Split Pea soup.

It was the best Split Pea soup I'd ever made.

Even though they're expensive, I'm willing to buy a Honey Baked ham now and again just for the bone.
