I really think Panetta was one of the best Clinton had, which is saying a lot, since Clinton had a lot of good people. He knew to get out before the bimbo eruptions.

I like Panetta, but for the CIA? Man that's a stretch for me.......................he's from my area. My son was at the Panetta Institute a couple times for political discussions and met Bill O Reilly and James Carville there, among others with national prominence. It's a program for local college kids to meet and interact with various political players.
