I agree 100%. 9/11 was not only a terrorist attack, it was intended to be an economic attack (and pretty freakin effective too). Fight fire with fire. And if the U.S. shows that it can be done, the rest of the world will follow. Does anyone really want to buy oil from the middle east if they have economically feasible alternatives?....I think not. It is true that they can make gasoline from coal, but it is far from economical. Easier to just use electric cars. This isn't to say that electric cars are a panacea, but they should be part of the solution.
