Of course, I knew that we were authorized to go to Iraq. Bush Jr was clever enough to get us just the wiggle room we needed to interpret the UN mandate as a mandate for war.

Since the decision to go to war, there have been (roughly annual) UNSC resolutions explicitly authorizing our presence there, no interpretation necessary. The UNSC mandate has been explicit for years.

All you have to do is look at the coalition that Bush Sr put together for Gulf War I,

You realize that Gulf War I was one of those "meddling in ME affairs" wars you say you oppose, regardless of how big the coalition was. That war was the one which attracted OBL to the US as an enemy btw.
