Both Denninger and Buiter have been a good read. The Euro is tracking gold, but I am not sure how much longer that will be, and it's worth watching.

Don't you think it's a bit odd for

"Professor Buiter, a former Monetary Policy Committee member who is now at the London School of Economics"

to use graphs and data from Wikipedia? It's the sort of thing I do, but the rough edge I give to my academic work is part of the ambiance I deliver to invite critical reply. -g-

"It's brutal analysis, and the logic is flawless."

Agreed. Excellent (despite complaints about data sources). The perspective is fiat money interventionist economics; predicted outcomes differ from those of the Austrian school of economists.

The interesting thing? Neither school of economic thought predicts anything positive. We can quibble about the mechanics, and long it will take, but all expected outcomes are very negative for the US.

It's just a question of time.

Good post. Thanks.

Jim
