the Israelites invaded Canaan which is now Gaza/Palestine around 1000-1200 BCE. They lived there until 600-800 CE when the Great Diaspora began and the Jews were forced out of Palestine. So they predate any Palestinians and were forced from their homes - this story is oddly familiar. Well the current owners of the land claim they need 10 more days to defeat Hamas - better get some more popcorn - to bad they don't allow embedded news crews this time.
