>> They might as well be for all of the military good they do.

Many wars have been fought and won with lesser weapons.

>> It isn't all, but it is what they mostly have. A lot of people are trying to conflate their stockpile of thousands of rockets with the small number of 122mm rockets they've managed to acquire.

Here is a Qassam hit from '06 courtesy your favorite resource. Rocks don't do this kind of damage.

>> It takes at least two sides to fight.

It isn't often that one side, when attacked, unprovoked, will sit and NOT fight.

There was a ceasefire and Hamas said, "Hey, it's over. We want to start killing Israelis again".

This is far more black and white than many want to make it. If the Palestinians quit killing innocent Israelis, there is zero doubt the fighting will stop.

"They actually collude with those countries because they have their own groups who wield disproportionate power because of the situation."

Israel is like a perpetual just-post-9/11 America, psychologically.

Look, the Palestinians are used as pawns by the other Arab countries. They like the conflict between Israel and Palestine to simmer along because they can keep their own poor and disaffected distracted by it. And that lets them to keep their nasty little despotic countries safely away from the possibility of any sort of change. So they feed in just enough weapons and material so that the Palestinians have no hope of an actual military confrontation and leave only low level terrorism as their only option.

CJ, unless you just pulled this out of Wiki, my congrats! IMO this is right on and assuming it truly came straight from you, I am impressed.

Well said in a few sentences only.

This insight is fair for a lib but way out of date. Today the Arabs are scared stiff of the Palestinians, and would prefer them to reach an agreement with Israel and occupy themselves with living their lives like normal people. Palestinians threaten the stability of semi-moderate Arab countries. But it's too late in most cases...
