ElM, there was a cockpit voice recorder, so it isn't all conjecture about what happened to Alan Beaven. He was a big strong guy, trained in martial combat and therefore likely to be willing to use his skills and attitudes in such a situation. He was in the cockpit as shown by his voice being recorded saying "Turn up!" nzherald.co.nz
