re electoral politics, if this wraps up in the next few days, israeli support for the operation will be intact. I would assume any cessation comes with at least a temporary cease fire on both sides. I think then barak and livni huddle to see who takes on bibi. Or they do three way and loser supports the other unless bibi takes a clear majority.

Until the attack, Netanyahu was well ahead of the rest of the pack. However, since the attack, the campaigns by Livni and Barack have become more competitive. Apparently, Israelis thrive on war.
