Plenty of technologically and commercially viable solution exist, but I think that is exactly what many of us have been criticizing you guys for. You would rather spend more time talking about how these technologies will never work than in contributing to the discussion of how do we become energy independent.

What we need is a realistic solution. I once worked in an organization where the boss cheered one of his managers as the best problem finder he had ever hired - unfortunately he said he had hired the guy to solve problems. We have some great problem finders on this board.

And we have even better problem deniers on this board.

If you are looking for "problem finders" you are in the right place. You guys "find" every problem with alt energy... and you are not the "guy hired to solve problems". You are 100% negative.

To make a car flex-fuel so it can run on any combination of gasoline and alcohol would cost an automaker an extra $100...

Absolutely brilliant - except - where does the fuel come from? Have we not yet recognized the idiocy of ethanol?

Well lets assume we algae played out, or switch grass, or a half dozen others as a source for alt fuel and we didn't have the auto technology to use it? How likely are we to develop a fuel that doesn't work in our automobiles?

You need to rethink the chicken and egg thing.
