I think it was the Israelis that said it, so I guess you would call that "asstalk". I doubt Hamas was saying it and I doubt that Palestinians would be saying it, since any Palestinian that said it would probably be killed by Hamas immediately or later on. I think the Israelis were firing mortars or tank fire and neither of those usually cause such devastation, so the objective facts would probably support the Israeli POV. Have you thought about going to Gaza yourself and reporting these things "first hand"?
