You are confused btn trend and ticks. When we talk about ticks, we
simply state "upticks" or "downticks". Nobody on street calls 5-8 tick
movement as trend. In general, we keep 5-8 ticks on the chart to
monitor. But trend is used for longer terms among TAs. ei: TAs use
a chart slope representing price movenements, connectiong the highest
and lowest prices of a stock. TAs use this line to indicate an uptrend
or downtrend.
