Regarding: Wouldn't Jefferson, Hamilton, and Jackson be proud? Actually, Hamilton would be very proud. He was a great proponent of a strong central government (and central bank). He wanted the office of president to be a lifetime position. He only wanted to be rid of the British so that he and the Federalists could have power similar to royalty.
