Hi David ... please let us know how MSFT fares in their Marketing promotions, particularily the events that you attend personally.

I've re-read my post to you about Novell's Marketing programs ... and think that I need to re-state something I said that doesn't give enough credit to them for their recent efforts.

I have been to several Novell Marketing 'events' in the past few months, all did a good job of portraying Novell's technology and future products as very worthwhile and definitely created the impression that Novell's technology is superior to all competitors. My problem is that I was not able to figure out what they wanted the attendees to buy! ... in some of the circumstances the message was pretty clearly ... 'wait' until (usually a product release that was imminent). I was in the audience and talking with people that were clearly ready to buy something from Novell ... but they didn't get the 'proposal' or 'offer' ... instead, they got the message to 'wait'.

I don't think it will take much to change the message to say 'buy this product', 'can we have a VAR send you a proposal?', etc ... I'm just getting very impatient, and I think it showed up in my post.
