Right. I'd bet they could spend $17B on a solar farm and get the same amount of energy output. That would be an interesting study..

Or give homeowners and businesses a 50% subsidy and low interest loans for rooftop installations, so that solar is a slam dunk economic winner for virtually everyone with a roof. Not sure that it would produce more electricity but it would sure put a lot of (tax paying) Florida construction guys back to work.

It would be an interesting study... you suppose Florida Power & Light will pay for the study? I suspect not.
