Quite right, money is all about trust. But "In God We Trust" seems to be taking things a bit far. God might be on our side, but presuming that He backs the currency is a bit of a cheek.

Qi requires primarily trust in oneself which as far as I know is completely novel in money systems.

It is a presumption which Alan Green$pan was shocked and astounded to find shareholders in financial companies did not act on. Shareholders took huge and absurd risks and allowed managers to destroy the companies.

But there is no way around that. While it's normal practise to legislate and regulate that everyone should wrap themselves in cotton wool and adopt no risk, that eliminates the prospects for profit.

Imagine having every transaction first vetted by some government spiv who decides if there is too much risk in the trade. That's the road to Hell, paved with good intentions.
