Are you trying to argue that IBM jobs, on average, don't require more skill than GM assembly line jobs? Are you honestly trying to make that argument?

Inappropriately worded comparison. Assembly line jobs at IBM don't require any more skill than AL jobs at GM...yes. Now you can argue that the IBM of late has more engineering content, because IBM is tending towards services and away from manufacturing...that's true, but not particularly relevant to GM's troubles.
