Nobody said it was going to happen overnight.

But when oil starts to go through the roof again in a few years....

Why not give everyone a $10K tax credit (take it from the Rich people like you, of course.. ;0) and help them convert their EXISTING vehicle to NG??

Fine, we give them a choice, I have absolutely no problem with that. In fact give them $5K if they buy an ICE car that gets over 50 MPG. The point is to drive a death spike through the price of oil... and switching to all ICE cars that get better than 50 MPG would also do the trick. We would be at sub-$10 a barrel for sure... they couldn't give the stuff away.

This can EASILY take 5 years, unless people like you decide to implement a European style solution and put a $2/gallon tax on fuel.

Even if we implement a $2 tax on gas it will take a lot longer than 5 years. In 5 years we would be lucky to get to 10% EV penetration. Lot's of work to do.
