just in in-tray

I was talking to someone this morning who claims that if you add up all of the infrastructure projects "on deck" in all 50 US states, the total is a mere $60 billion. With the Obama stimulus plan, each and every one of them will be funded. But from what I understand, there are not enough contractors, asphault, etc. to fill all the orders if everyone starts building them in the next 12 months. That might mean that there is a bidding war for the labor and supplies needed to fufill the orders. Inflation anyone?

A right-wing guy in Virginia who was very much against Obama runs an asphault paving company. All he can say at the moment is "I love Obama, I love Obama, I love Obama." He is licking his chops as the new orders he foresees coming in later in 2009.....

Correct and has very substantial natural resources aside from crude oil and NG but a population similar to Romania - and plenty of undeveloped land that can be turned into row crop agriculture
