Some of the residential construction is investment because I nearly bought a penthouse 3 bedroom apartment a few years ago. <a big chunk of that "investment" in China is the vast amount of residential construction which is just consumption under another label. > I suppose the proportion of investment properties is trivial compared with the local yokel accommodation consumption which doesn't return profits from outside China.
