Israel would have to face internal divisions, except that a constant war footing defers such an examination. Sure the civilian casulties is a world-wide black eye, but it keeps the war going and the neocons of Israel think that is the only way to keep the nation united.

What surprised me is how all three candidates for PM are using the war to get votes. Israel has completely committed itself to being a warring nation.
