Obama's plan seems absurd. That's $300,000 per job created or saved. I could pay somebody for ten years at that rate. Or 20 years in many instances. That's not really creating a job, it's paying somebody to fill in time while clock punching instead of them getting a real job.

The main problem is the minimum wage was set so high during good times that now there's no way to clear the market because clearing the market means lower prices.
