Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about what should be, or what should not be, public policy.

(Even Doctors and media types! <g>)

As for myself, however, I come down on the side that says that the federal government has no valid Constitutional basis to ban a plant... and that, as a matter of governance - the federal government should not be in the business of criminalizing private behaviors of adults which do not pose a significant thread to society.

And that the governmental 'cure' causes far greater demonstrable harm to society than the 'disease'.

I'm stunned.

I would have thought him to be more knowledgeable that that.

But he does illustrate one point. Doctors are required to have 0 credit hours, in cannabinoid treatment, to get a medical degree.

Odd..

The article was dated 1/8/2009. Yet within it the doctor says that CA plus 10 other states ..

That information is a couple of years old.

Since that time there has been major areas of study about cannabinoids and the good things they can do.

This seems to be a reprint of something years old.

Since he says that it had medical benefit then, he most likely has a better impression of it now.

You have to remember that you are addressing an addict. He can reason anything to it's proper end, that being legal marijuana. He isn't worth the discussion. He even stated that Palin could have won the election if she endorsed legalizing marijuana.
