Now we know why politics in Illinois is screwed up.

He did what every other politician does everyday... quid pro quo. Even Washington State politicians. You think any other pol that's got a chance to 'give' a senate seat worth probably $15 million (in election costs) doesn't think "what's in it for me?" If you had a chance to give anyone you wanted $15 million would you think, "hum, how can I personally profit from this opportunity?"

Now admittedly he was about as crass as you can get... and utterly stupid to not think he might be bugged. And so far at least no indictments, so maybe he didn't do anything illegal.
