Not going to happen.

Why?

Negotiations, laws, etc., will result in simple cancellation of derivatives per some sort of agreement.

For the good of the system.

The bets will be unwound. Some pain, of course, but no catastrophe.

Perhaps OTC derivatives will disappear. Its highly unlikely that exchange traded products will disappear.

The leverage available to "too big to fail" institutions will be regulated into the ground. That will be they key going forward.

Wall Street's money machine is finished. I'm sure NYC has most likely seen its zenith for the foreseeable future.
