Joe: More news about Hong Kong Stock market from Yahoo:
CHINA - Mark Mobius of Templeton Investment Management told CNBC on
Thursday that he was taken by how much Hong Kong stocks had fallen
overnight.

''The degree of selling and the size of the drop surprised us,'' he
said.

The blue-chip Hang Seng Index tumbled 1,211.47 points or 10.41 percent
lower to close at 10,426.30.

''We thought that it would decline but not that suddenly,'' he said.

Mobius said he expected the Hong Kong market to drop even more.

''I doubt that they will float the currency because there are a lot of
political implications,'' he told the U.S. television Business News
Network.

Although the Chinese government said it would not change the Hong Kong
dollar's peg to the U.S. dollar, local brokers said another dip in the
market could occur if the currency issue was not resolved quickly.

Investor confidence in the local currency has been steadily weakening
amid a currency crisis in neighboring countries.

Beijing Yanhua (0325.HK) (BYH) was down 1-13/16 at 10-15/16, China
Eastern Airlines (CEA) was 2-1/16 lower at 19-3/4 and Ek Chor China
Motorcycle Co Ltd (EKC) lost 3/16 at 4-1/8.
