I'll bet your team has a reputation that precedes them and has the result of intimating the others. When in high school, I very much wanted to win the volleyball doubles trophy because my sister had won it. My partner was 5'7" and I'm 5'9" - the team we had to beat were both 6' and known as the best players in the school. We devised a scheme that was based our positions on the court, i.e. 1 equalled our standing next to each other, 2 equalled me at the net and her mid-court, 3, the positions switched and so forth. It worked only on the serve but we kept shouting numbers at each other and the other team was so busy trying to figure out what we were doing that they kept making mistakes. We won. <g>
