CT doesn't really have any major sports teams so UConn does the trick around here regardless of whether you attended the school. Storrs (where UConn is) is in the middle of nowhere. When I was in high school we all considered UConn a safety school. Thanks to the sports programs, enrollment is way up, money is rolling in from alumni, the campus has expanded, and the school itself has a very good reputation.

I got to meet Coach Calhoun in the off-season when he came to speak at the local library about his new book. He seemed like a nice guy, signed books, but man oh man was he a boring and self-indulgent speaker. His book was a tough read as well but did have some interesting parts, like how the practices are scripted to the minute. But the guy obviously sure can coach, as can Geno on the woman's side.
