re: your Cape Coral link. The golf courses on that map are in trailer parks, er, manufactured housing developments, quite old ones. That canal would eventually link to the Caloosahatchee but it might take you 3 or 4 hours and then another 1 or 2 to the Gulf.

It is a particularly forlorn area of the "Cape" and actually more North Fort Myers, but got a variance for a Cape Coral zip because of the stigma of a North Fort Myers address (trailer parks, drug addicts, crime, inbred rednecks). SW and NW Cape would be the only places I'd look. It would be a while for me as the city is going to have enormous social and infrastructure problems owing to a declining tax base.

Those are probably First Home Builder homes, a woman I know was the primary contractor for them and built 3000 homes in 18 mos. That should tell you about their swell quality. Huge problems with Chinese drywall and health. First Home was bought by Hovanian. First Homes is the first domino in the housing fiasco. I would run from, not walk to this "opportunity". MP
