Re: "If you look back at the FFs you will see they envisioned citizens serving in government for a sort period of time."

Yes, I know!

They *ALSO* were convinced of the fallibility of man, and they did not want to put too much faith into finding perfect people to lead them --- rather, they put faith into a DESIGN for GOVERNMENT that sought to BALANCE government's power nearly equally among three COMPETING POWER CENTERS. (Our unique-at-the-time TRIPARTE design for government.)

And they sought to make us a NATION OF LAWS... with a fundamental document containing our HIGHEST LAWS.

Also to keep individual men from amassing too much power, and they gave us SEVERAL WAYS to amend our constitution... so that it could grow with the nation's needs, and not become stale or irrelevant.

They *did not* put their faith in us always being lucky enough to be blessed with honest, selfless good leaders... (who would quietly go back to the plow when their temporary stint in power was done.)

That is why they DIVIDED POWER among competing power centers... and provided a group of HIGHEST LAWS for the new nation... while also ENCOURAGING us to amend it to keep up with the times.

Put not your faith in 'noble leaders'.
