And if it does, low double digits probably wouldn't cut it. We had low double digit unemployment in the early 80s recession. And a number of wealthy European countries have relatively frequently had double digit unemployment rates with no one claiming that they where in a depression.

OTOH if we get sustained high double digit rates, I'll accept the depression categorization. Or alternatively if we get any 20+% unemployment, even for a quarter, or if we get very sustained low double digit rates, then I'd also be ok with "depression".
