Not Lorne-----but to answer your question--------no Obama doesn't realize. Obama did not have the culural background or education, even though he went to Punahou as a teenager, that would lead to an appreciation of America's history. His early memories are of Indonesia and later the small island of Oahu that one can traverse in about an hours time from the North Shore of the island to Honolulu-----a rather isolated existence, I know I lived there several times. To the best of my knowledge Obama never stepped in a church until he went to the not-Reverend Wright's church. As a result, Obama has little concept of our Christian and Judaeo heritage imo. Actually, his earliest religious training was in the Muslim religion in Indonesia-----that no doubt is why he learned to recite the Muslim prayer of which he speaks glowingly. jmho mj
