[Conference Call] Hi Mark, I listened to the conference call, and you hit most of the main points. As for him sounding 'nervous and evasive,' I didn't get that sense more than I usually do from G.S. He gets a little flustered if the questions are too detailed, confidential, or more in Amati's realm (eg. TI's chip.) I came away with a 'steady as she goes' mentality. A number of things are in the oven, and we're waiting for the timer to buzz (customer announcements). I think the most relieving items for me were that they lost the BC contract prior to acquiring Amati's DMT, that they fully intend to have the lowest cost solution for each technology, and that a BC type loss is much less likely going forward because of the cheap DMT they will offer. While I'm not happy we lost the initial BC contract, it was a small initial contract to learn the lesson of DMT on. I get the sense that all of Alcatel's victories thus far are open to challenge from the new gorilla on the ADSL block. Even so, we don't have to win all the contracts in order to generate large growth for Westell/Amati. If they intend to do a secondary, they must have big plans in terms of ramp-up in the not too distant future. Seamans did emphasize over and over the enormity of commercial deployment going forward, though leaving the details to customer announcements. 1998 is the start of this volume deployment, according to the call (as we all knew). Regards, Richard PS For those who haven't listened, the recording of the call is at: 800-479-6003. You just leave your name and phone number on the recording prior to listening (fully automated), for those who haven't tried it before.
