I think even this is doomed to failure but the idea that they would take over all mortgages is beyond comprehension, beyond the scale of our entire GDP.

The government is already nationalizing the mortgage holders and handing your assets over to China!!
GSEs (your tax dollars) already back the majority of mortgages.
Everything else is being sliced and diced over and over
Look how C took 40 billion of tax dollars and then turns around and sells the bulk of their assets to MS for pennies on the dollar. What does the treasury have to show for that???
How many more times will this happen while the US bleeds to death?
You might prefer to let the lies and deception carry on endlessly, but I'd like to see it end and start getting things in order and holding someone accountable.

Nationalizing all existing SFH mortgages will do it and it will boost the economy while restoring confidence in the dollar.
