So it sounds like SUNW has some (parts of, at least) operating system that could eventually be used by Joe Average who's buying his new sub-$1000. PC. What I'd like to see is such a system being offered as a substitute for Windows. It has to be very user-friendly. That wasn't the case when I bought my Dell.

As for the dueling e-mails on this thread... make liberal use of the Delete button!

As for the market "tanking," the comparative strengths of SUNW (and competitors) are still important as we decide when the bottom has been reached, so as to pick up more before the eventual inevitable rise. Some are saying that the market is oversold. As for me... I dunno. I'll have to pay attention tomorrow!

Don't own Cisco. Don't own Intel. Maffei is the guy who engineers all of the investments. Don't worry about Maffei. Microsoft is not arrogant. They play to win. Sunw is arrogant but they aren't worthy. Here's something to chew. Msft and Sunw is a Zero sum game. You CAN"T OWN BOTH. Well you can, but, why would you? Don't sell the msft. Sell it in ten years when its alot higher. Could it go down short term? Of course.

What do you think of Ingram?
