Better idea. Figure out what fair value is on the home and pay off the bank using proceeds from a lottery specifically set up to put people in foreclosed homes. Winners get a new home, government makes money off the lottery, banks take the home off their books and government can collect property taxes on the property. Win, win, win, win.
