Nothing wrong with infrastructure improvements and a new "Manhattan Project" to get us off of Middle Eastern oil.

Beyond that, however, I don't think the government should do anything but hold the line on spending. Get out of Iraq; we don't need to be there anymore. That should save us a small sum of money. Then reform Social Security; people with the means shouldn't continue getting the same level of entitlements from the government. If people have a problem with that, let them pay more to keep SS the way it is.

Then let the Bush tax cuts expire, but also do away with the useless AMT. If you want to raise taxes on capital gains and businesses, fine by me, but any surpluses should IMMEDIATELY go toward paying down the debt. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Jesus, you sound like a damn liberal. Welcome to the Dem party.
