They also pad their pay with overtime. Their pensions are calculated based on their earnings................before they retire they make sure they are doing lots of overtime. Firemen do the same thing and many local city employees are also in that bracket. Remember, they also get healthcare on top of the pension. Many cities in Ca now pay more for their retirees than they do for working employees...........San Francisco is one such city. The fire and police chiefs where I live make more than Gen Petreaus.
