"...Just think, brinker has his followers 100% invested in the market right now, all the way from the highs in 2008, with NO EXIT STRATEGY..."

Yep, terrible ain't it? Just like those buy and holders.

Of course you could have been an "asset allocator" like Kirk but then you would have had losses in THREE OF THE PAST FIVE YEARS...instead of just one year.

Is it better to be a failed market timer or a failed asset allocator?

Well, at least Brinker has a successful newsletter to fall back on.

Brinker told his followers to put 100% of their availabe cash into the markets at 1450. For those that had some doubt at first he told them again at 1350. They have now lost over 40% of their priciple. He stayed bullish and had no exist strategy. He also said his "work" (timing model?) did not include predicting this bear market. What good is a timing model if it cannot predict a 50% slide?

So you recommend market timing?

"Just think, brinker has his followers 100% invested in the market right now, all the way from the highs in 2008, with NO EXIT STRATEGY. In addition to buying all the way down, and even now with NO idea what will happen next, and when.

"firmly in the jaws of the BEAR, helpless.
"

There can't be an exit strategy unless one is trying to time one's buying and selling, so it sounds like you believe in market timing.
