Agreed on all counts.

I would suggest that, although I have a bias to be long gold (physical), miners (producers not exploration) and commodities generally, currently there is no safe buy and hold. Stay nimble and there is lots of opportunity to profit from the volatility (even though I miss so many turns it leaves me feeling stupid most of the time).
