But the last thing anyone on a low-carb diet needs is a protein supplement, I would think. I'm more concerned about getting too much. Maybe it's a better choice than sugar-laden powdered milk for adding richness, but then maybe not.

I may be on low carb diet, but my kids are not. If it was only up to them, they would eat only sugar and starches. I just try to influence their diet to be not as high carb. The younger daughter likes eggs, the older one not as much, so I try to add some protein this way.

BTW, her version of the shake has some honey in it. What I like about the protein powder I linked in is that the taste is not very detectable. This way, I can add a bit more of it to her shake, to balance out the honey.
