Re: "Just four years ago they were talking about having already assembled a permanent majority."

(Thought that was more like *twelve* years ago!)

I'll give 'the architect' Rove, and Dubbya credit on this point --- they BOTH apparently believed that the GOP would steadily lose it's ability to be a winning national Party, with the ongoing demographic changes in America, unless the Party could find a way to appeal to the fastest growing minority group - Hispanics. I give them credit for being able to COUNT. The days that a Party appealing mostly only to White, Southern, Males can rule the scene on a national basis are passing inexorably.)

Re: "It is amazing what four years of democrat (and media) treason can do."

The opposition will always be the opposition. (What do you expect the opposition Dems to do? Kiss the hems of your garments? No, oppositions exist to advance their own agenda, and to oppose *yours*. Same as always. :-)

But, if you continue to place all the blame for losing on some nefarious 'others' who have come in and swiped your cookies --- instead of realizing that if a Party loses support over a sustained period of time with the wider public, then it is probably for damn good solid reasons --- then whomever continues to cling to that 'blame the evil guy behind the tree for my problems' response is likely to continue to reside in the wilderness for a while longer.
