Agreed. That pilot did everything perfectly, and deserves due credit.

I've always paid attention to the flight attendants instructional speech at the beginning of every flight, look at the placard and spot the nearest exit. Somebody on the TV just said you should look for your plan B exit also.

The flight back from Ohio was stressful. Columbus to Denver was in a Regional jet. Three hours on a small jet is not fun.

The airlines are getting stingy. We got only one serving of water and no peanuts or any snack at all in three hours. Denver to Portland was the same, with sassy flight attendants to boot. They boarded a bunch of standby passengers before we boarded and all the overhead space was gone. The attendants said the overhead space was used up, but I found a place for wife's carry on. Had to check mine.

I hate flying.
