So true. I only have one doc that I've had throughout the years who's still practicing, but she's planning on retiring next year. My other favorite doc, a GP, decided to become a hospitaler so she could spend more time with her family. She said that the malpractice insurance costs, long hours, and reduced insurance payments made it too difficult to continue. She now works an 8-hour shift at a hospital and doesn't have to worry about the business end of the practice. And she's netting more money.
