Hi Cal,

Despite the melt-down of the Hong Kong market three days in a row, gold hardly budged an inch forward. How very disappointing! All through today, I heard on CNBC that the flight of HK money was not into gold, as one would have expected, but into US bonds! According to some market-watchers, that represents a "flight into quality, safety and liquidity."

It certainly appears that the Feds have succeeded in persuading lots of investors, over the last ten years, into believing that gold is just an ordinary commodity. See

thewinds.org.

I understand that the GMD reserve calculations will be coming out either at the end of October or in the first week of November. Let's hope that the reserve calculations will give GMD a much needed big boost!
