Lizzie and threaders, what impact will cloud computing have on the software companies (MSFT, ORCL, ETC) requirements for new or greater memory in computers? It almost seems to me that Cloud computing are like the old dumb terminals with mainframes. The only difference is everything originates only a server or large mainframe with a smart computer is on the user end where the user can download applications, manipulate the data and then uplink the data to the server or mainframe. The use of the applications, downlink and uplink, and storage could become very costly when the user becomes locked in to the cloud, IMO.

What are your thoughts.

Paul
