>> The real reason Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich

This is an absolute crock.

There was one reason and one only: Money changed hands.

I have always suspected the real reason Marc Rich was pardoned was that Clinton needed someone more outrageous than Susan McDougal who was in jail for contempt of court. She refused to testify in the various matters of Whitewater, Castle Grande and te various other Clinton frauds.

By pardoning Rich it gave everyone something tasty to chatter about without actually pointing back at the various Clinton frauds.

"You don't sacrifice core principles of justice because Israel wants you to."

Not according to Ehud Barak. He called up Bush, and Condi was forced to not vote on the cease fire in Gaza proposal she'd been working on for a week at the UN. If you believe what he says.
