I remember landing in Kai Tak about 15 years ago sitting in first class (from Singapore), and as we turned at the end of the runway, there was a 747 sitting in Hong Kong Harbor. It had overran the runway the night before. Two Boeing engineers sitting on the other side of the plane were leaning over me looking at it. I asked a dumb question. Is there anything that can be salvaged. Their answer: Salt water--Just take a chain saw to it. It was an truly amazing site.
