If it is a Constitutional Amendment then it must be approved first by either a simple majority or by a 2/3rd's majority of the Congress and then sent to all of the states for voting on ratification.

I would presume that the Dems would go for a simple majority of 51% to send it to the states.

This is similar to the Equal Rights Amendment which never passed---- the people opposed ERA because of transfer of power to the Federal Government from the States---the ERA if approved would have bypassed the rights of states.

Getting rid of the term limits is of the same ilk---it is an amendment to the Constitution and can not be done without the consent of the people.

If the Dems believe they have the momentum for more than 8 years they would go for the change. There is a danger in that presumption-------they are not in control, anything that occurs is their blame to take.

Good that Drew Zahn the WNT reporter is on top of this.
