PE firms like Cerberus which are administrated like hedge funds report quarterly (or even monthly) and they do report drawdowns. In particular a twin of cerberus reported a large loss in 1998, after which it recovered wildly.

Dollar still not backing off... British pound broke 1.40, now attacking 1,39. Off 8 cents or so, really sick how fast this moves.
